RE:Introduction to Christ

Dear all,

Ever stopped doing everything and rethink what life is about? Perhaps something devastating happened that throws your life into a timeless phase where everything seems to be meaningless..

I myself do admit that I'm currently going through such an event which really made me rethink what life is about. When something really important is taken away from you, it's a pivotal moment where you have to make a decision on your direction of life.

Hmm.. Remember Christ?...

Steps of diagnosis:

Take a magnifying glass and examine where is Christ in your heart

Is Christ
a) Sitting comfortably on the sofa in the living room in your house (In your life)
b) Hiding in the store room in your house (A shameful presence)
c) An unwanted visitor in your home at the moment due to other "commitments" (My life goes first!)
d) Still knocking on the door of your house (Hello, who are you?)

The important question here is where do we place Christ in our life. Are we putting ourself first and Christ second? I do understand that all of us are brought up with different priorities in life set by how society shapes us. Some of the common priorities in live may be in the form of wealth, status, power, relationship, human love or living life to the fullest.

When these priorities are taken away from our life, as Christians, why then do we feel devastated? Simple.. We have put those priorities above God, which translates to idols in our life. Thus, this is a great and timely reminder from God that hey, remember me, your God whom my son you have accepted as your personal Lord and Savior?

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:4)

I am a Christian myself and I do admit that I have placed wealth, status and relationship first above God before. Yes, we Christians do experience these before. It is also understandable that placing God first in our life above all things, yes, even ourself, is an extremely difficult decision to take. It's like hey, can I trust you with everything I have? Not easy at all.. The answer is this; We are saved through God's grace which is totally undeserved by us sinners in the first place who deserved to go to hell eternally. Jesus laid down his life on the cross to save us from our sins which we ourselves can't save ourselves from. Through him alone, we are reunited with God.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Therefore, isn't it obvious that we should put our main focus on God alone? Anything less of that equates as an insult to our God, our Saviour.

To all ye brothers and sisters in Christ out there, let us all be reminded that God is always there in our life and do put Him first and foremost in your life. Do let Him control the steering wheel of your car. Take a step of faith and trust him, for He is our Saviour!
